The same news organizations that decry “both-sidesism” are rushing to engage in it now. But people of good conscience are processing the horror of the Bibas children’s slaughter with moral clarity.
It’s not just the Bibas family. The entire Siman Tov family was slaughtered in the October 7 massacres by Hamas in Israel. And hostages of all ages have been killed.
News agencies append alleged Gaza “death tolls” to these reports without basic context. This is a journalistic fiasco. There’s no comparison between civilians killed collaterally in war and those targeted, kidnapped, starved, raped, abused, used as human shields (which makes them responsible for their deaths), and slaughtered by Palestinian Islamists — including members of Hamas, other groups, and “civilians” who engage in terror.
Also, the numbers are not trustworthy, and the media gives comparatively miniscule if any attention to far larger numbers of civilians killed in other wars this decade alone.
On They Stand Corrected, I have discussed my experience on a journalistic fellowship in Nuremberg. Standing where Allied Forces dropped bombs, I thought of beautiful “Aryan” children killed in those bombings. The killing that humanity engages in as a species is depraved. And war is hell. None of that makes the achievements of the Allied Forces in World War II any less heroic. They were fighting evil.

As Gazans celebrate the slaughter of the Bibas kids, far left “protesters” continue to support these terrorists. The same people who usually decry “toxic masculinity” support the world’s worst example of it.
The Hard Truth
Any productive talk of post-war Gaza must include deradicalization and denazification. For the sake of humanity, and to ward off even worse wars in the future, there must be ideological reconstruction among this population that has been taught a horrific world view, eternal victimhood, and zero responsibility — a view regularly bolstered by the media.
Meanwhile hostages are still being held and subjected to nightmare conditions. More on all that, and the media’s epic fail on this front, in the new episode:
Remember that life is also filled with wondrous awesomeness. We can fight evil while appreciating the good. We need to.
