Yes, the headline above makes a superlative claim. If you read/hear/watch something you think is an even more dangerous hit piece, let me know!
Right when millions of people begin to breathe a sigh of relief, thinking that maybe World War III is not around the corner, along comes a “news” outlet pushing vicious propaganda that helps Iran’s war mongering.
But this isn’t just a story of a hit piece. It’s a story of the media having given up on basic standards. What they do to this subject today they could do to any other subject tomorrow — including you.
Ha’aretz, the insanely far-left anti-Israel (yup) Israel-based “news” agency, is out with another disaster that should be studied in journalism schools for what not to do. Things it gets wrong are plentiful, as some actual military experts — and, crucially, people fluent in Hebrew — have pointed out.
The journalistic failures include: mistranslating the story to fundamentally change it in a horrific way for non-Hebrew-reading audiences (i.e., just about everyone outside of Israel); burying facts that prove its own headline false; ignoring both a lack of proof of its claims AND existing videos of terrorists carrying out these atrocities; and more.
These fact checks come from some people who may be familiar to They Stand Corrected listeners, like Eitan Fischberger (Fisch Files), and new voices like
(see X posts). A detailed takedown comes from , whom I interviewed previously. His words are a must-listen today. How hit pieces happen
News agencies are businesses competing in the attention economy. For revenue, they count on clicks and subscriptions. They could do the ethical thing, and commit to a 3-word oath all journalists should take. But there’s an easier way: tap into people’s radicalization, and radicalize them even more. Feed them content that tells them their worst beliefs are right. They’ll eat it up.
But these days, the vast majority of big news agencies are already doing that for the big lie of the left. So how do you compete? By getting even more extreme — and, in Ha’aretz’s case, by playing up the idea that because you’re based in Israel, you somehow have authority. It works. U.S. lawmakers who want to believe this stuff have a field day.
This is why I’m not linking to the piece. But if you want to see it, there’s a good chance you can without helping Ha’aretz. My paid subscribers learn how to access news from tons of major outlets, saving money and time.
Try halting all your paid subscriptions to failing legacy media for one month, and using this method instead. You’ll save $ and support the fight for truth.
What do you think?
