The Media's Gullibility and Trump's 'Blame the Jews' Madness
Plus, a plan to prevent the media from falling for anti-Israel distractions on October 7
The new episode is up!
While the media fixates on one awful thing Trump and Vance are doing, it ignores lots of others. And that’s exactly how the Trump campaign wants it. Today, I explain something campaigns know: The media always falls for this. I play you the sound of a campaign strategist admitting it after his candidate won.
Think of it as “choose your own controversy.” You’ll hear a clever metaphor Rachel Maddow uses for it. Oh — and one thing the media has been ignoring is so absurd that, when I play it for you, I momentarily lose it in laughter.
Meanwhile, will that same gullibility lead news agencies to fall for anti-Israel protests scheduled on October 7, when they should be reporting on what happened in the most evil terrorist attack of modern times? I announce a plan to push them to avoid this trap.
And Trump is now claiming that if he loses, Jewish people will “have a lot to do” with it. This is five-alarm fire level danger. I talk you through what happens every time he says this about any group — and why people insisting that his comments were OK “in context” have it exactly wrong. I’ve also written an op-ed about it, which leads the opinion today in the biggest paper in a key swing state.
I’ll share a bunch of links to go along with this episode in the next newsletter. Be sure to subscribe so you receive it and the open letter to the media that I mention, which should come out next week.
