The Loving Man, in Mourning, the Media Teaches You to Hate

And Trump's disastrous chaos

There’s a word that, when you hear or read it, might trigger a cascade of emotions — most or all of them negative. That’s because for many years, the media has actively worked to stigmatize a tiny group of people with this word.

It’s time to take this on. In the latest episode of They Stand Corrected you’ll learn why so much of what you’ve heard is the opposite of what’s true.

The word: “settler.” It has been used in the news a great deal lately, as journalists have made unproven allegations based on the claims of a propagandist.

Speaking of propaganda, an expert joins me to dispel myths in an Oscar-winning propaganda film. Joel Margolis discusses his piece for JNS, “The truth about ‘No Other Land.” As I point out, his organization, the American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, has on its home page an image of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan, two liberal justices. Clearly, this is not some right wing group — not that it should matter. What matters is what's true.

Joel will take us through numerous legal treaties and turn the idea of who is a “settler” on its head.

I also introduce you to Leo Dee, whose wife and daughters were slaughtered by Palestinian terrorists. His wife, Lucy, had organs that were salvageable and transplanted into five patients, one of whom happened to be Arab. Leo said his wife would be so proud. That's normal, sadly.

There’s another media story in here as well. Leo can tell you about this love. But citizens under the Palestinian Authority cannot. In anti-democratic authoritarian governments, there is no basic belief that everyone should be free to be who they are. They would be in danger from their own societies if they spoke openly about their love and support for their Jewish Israeli neighbors.

This is about an entire take on humanity that comes along with democracy.
