The decades-long, mind-altering hate movement that succeeded
'Character assassination' via the brand connectome
It’s a powerful sign of how the media has become so deeply corrupted. In 1998, CBS aired a special filled with “stars” like Ted Danson, Harry Connick Jr., Kathy Bates, Natalie Cole, Sid Caesar, Fran Drescher and more. The title was “To Life! America Celebrates Israel's 50th.”
In the years after, Islamist terrorism continued to explode worldwide, fueled by claims that governments not under strict Sharia law are “occupiers.” Yet 25 years after that celebration, when Hamas and other Gazans carried out the worst terrorist massacres of modern times, they found widespread support for their atrocities, including in the United States. And CBS soon showed itself to be among the worst media of all, even punishing its own anchor for attempting to question a biased, anti-Israel author.
Now, even as overall crime went down in 2024, hate crimes against Jewish people reached the highest level ever recorded.
How did this happen? It isn’t rational — literally. What changed involved the subconscious mind. Leslie Zane, founder of Triggers and author of The Power of Instinct, explains in the new episode.
Leslie is the brilliant expert who coined the term “brand connectome.” Dr. Michael Platt, Wharton’s top neuroscientist, signed off on her research.
“You definitely have to launch a counter-campaign,” Leslie says. It “has to provide all of the correct information, the true information about Israel. And there's so much truth to tell. There's so much good that this country does that they don't get any credit for. They are humble people. They don't walk around telling people about their achievements.”
In our interview, she breaks down what happens inside our minds, the strategies hate groups use to manipulate us, the media’s role, how the pain response comes into play, and much more.
