Media Ignores Christians' Plight
Plus a Hanukkah message to journalists, and what I learned from reporting on Kwanzaa
If there’s any time the media should finally pay attention to Christians suffering around the world, it’s this week. Today, an episode about one of the biggest stories ignored by big mainstream news agencies.
Find it at Spotify and all the other players here. Synopsis:
Millions are celebrating Christmas amid rising attacks and persecution by Islamist terrorists and repressive governments. The mainstream media is ignoring this, even as plotted attacks against churches spread through Europe and the U.S. Meanwhile, obsession with attacking Israel leads journalists to seek out Christians who support terrorists. Also, could the media finally get something basic about Christmas right?
Plus, a crucial message to the media about Hanukkah. And Josh shares one of the most important lessons he learned about journalism when reporting on Kwanzaa.
My new op-ed goes along with this episode:
(This paper has a paywall, but my paid subscribers can access just about any news article for free.)
Organizations focused on these issues have covered the growing attacks and persecution. In this episode, I cite reporting from the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), Catholic News Agency (CNA), Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) and Open Doors.
The episode also includes a hopeful, positive message for everyone. (Pay special attention to the music!) And I will send out a message that’s all positivity and light before all three holidays begin. :)
